Recently a group of volunteers came together to run the support group programmes regularly for the
patients of CBC.
Thanks to Mrs. Padma who sowed the seed that Support group programmes should be a movement by the breast
cancer survivors
for the breast cancer survivors. What does the support group do?
Counseling
- Providing information and clarification (by those who have been through the treatment)
- Interactions to help the patients feel less isolated
- Suggestions and tips to tide over the hardships during the treatment
Monthly events
- Talks by resource people on various topics related to breast cancer
- Fun and frolic programmes
- Opportunities for the participants to showcase their talents
Knitting prosthesis
- A small group of ladies have volunteered to learn and make prosthesis for patients who had
mastectomy surgery.
