Ultrasound guided core biopsy is performed under local anaesthesia. A small piece of tissue is removed and sent for testing to the lab and results will be available in a few days.

Stereotactic and ultrasound wire localisation excision.
Stereotactic and ultrasound wire localization are procedures that are done to localize a very small cancer that is not felt by hand or seen on Ultrasound. This procedure lets the surgeon know where exactly the lesion is present in the breast. The surgeon uses the wire as a guide and removes the lesion, the specimen is x-rayed once again to confirm the removal of the cancer.
