Chennai Breast Centre has a memorandum of understanding with the Biotechnology department, IIT, Chennai to collect and store Tumour tissue samples for research. The facility also actively participates in research projects conducted by the Biotechnology department, IIT, Chennai.
We are currently working on Breast cancer genetic mutations and triple negative breast cancers in association with Prasanthi Cancer Care Mission, Pune, India.
Chennai Breast Centre has a memorandum of understanding with Dr. Ramesh Nimmagadda Cancer Foundation and collect epidemiological, clinical, treatment and follow details of patients treated using OncoCollect tm software. This has enabled us to audit our own results and contribute to the understanding of breast cancer presentation, stage, and outcomes in our country.
We participate in the ADD Aspirin trial coordinated by the Tata trusts in India. Aspirin is used extensively for prevention of cardiovascular events. This trial is looking at using aspirin to see if it can help stop cancer coming back after treatment. This trial is open to people who have had an early stage cancer of breast.
