Dr.Jegadish Baskaran is a renowned senior anesthesiologist with more that 20 years of experience in anaesthesia both in India as well as in the UK. He obtained his MBBS and DA from Stanley Medical College , Chennai. Following that he went to the UK to pursue his higher training in Anaesthesia. He completed his FRCA in 1997 from Royal college of anesthesiologist London. He has worked as a consultant in Mid Essex Hospital in the UK following which he decided to return to India to serve the community.
His expertise includes pain management, specifically in palliative care.
He is experienced in advanced airway techniques, regional anaesthesia procedures, Ultrasound guided procedures including nerve blocks and central line cannulations. He has given anaesthesia for several high risk patients with a latest technique called pectoral nerve block, where the complications of anesthesia are minimized. He and Dr.Selvi together have successfully performed more than one thousand mastectomies as daycare procedures – first time in India.
